Testimonial - Marylou Sauer

We love the YMCA of Georgia's Piedmont, Bell Family Branch! Next to our church the “Y” is our favourite organization. My husband and I can be found in the wellness center most Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. The wellness center has a special place in my heart, for after a heart attack four years ago my husband needed a supervised exercise program to get back his strength and the “Y” filled that need admirably. He is in good health now but we made so many friends at the “Y” that we still go there at least three times a week. We exercise together for about an hour (treadmill, weights, and bicycle) and then he goes off to his coffee club to meet with the “elderly gentlemen” of the town, and I continue exercising with the machines, then join my friends for coffee in the “Y” coffee corner. I am so delighted that our swimming pool has been fixed and now I find myself going to swim a mile most afternoons. The life guards teach swimming many hours of the day, but there is always a lane set aside for lap swimmers. I find myself spending so many hours enjoying the YMCA activities that I can barely get my housework done. That’s perfectly O.K. at this time in our lives because my husband and I raised three productive children that are on their own now, and its time for us to lean back, relax, and enjoy life in this lovely small town!
