This is an informative meeting on what you and your child can expect for our Pre-K Explorers, Summer Day Camp, and LIT Programs. You will meet with our Summer Camp Director, and coordinators.

  • Thursday, May 16th- Parent Orientation/Counselor Meet & Greet 5:30pm

This is an informative meeting on what you and your child can expect for our Pre-K Explorers, Summer Day Camp, and LIT Programs. You will meet with our Summer Camp Director, and coordinators. This is also an opportunity to meet the counselors that will be working with your children this summer.

Introducing the Pre-K Explorers Program

Children who have completed Pre-K will expirence a camp of their own. Their day will be filled with themed style activites that include: arts and crafts, active games, character development, story time/devotions, a few field trips and daily swim.

With the Explorers Program, your child will receive FREE swim lessons. Lunch and snack will also be provided.

Summer Day Camp:

The YMCA Summer Day Camp is a perfect solution to parents looking for a safe, fun, and affordable summer expirence for their child.

Campers are grouped together by grade just completed, and their days are filled with fun age appropriate activites that include arts and crafts, physical activites, games, character development and devotions, field trips and daily swim time.

With the Summer Camp Program, your child will receive FREE swim lessons. Lunch and snack will also be provided.

Leaders In Training-LIT Program:

The Leaders In Training (LIT) Program is a special opportunity for 13 to 16 year olds to learn the skills needed to work with children in a YMCA camp setting. LIT's assist in providing activites to campers in a safe and well supervised enviroment. Unlike counselors, LIT's are always supervised by staff when working with campers.

Time is also put aside for LIT's to learn and practice new leadership skills and inservice trainings will be held during this session.

Day Camp Dates & Times:

May 23 - July 31
7:30 AM - 6:30 PM
Early Drop-Off is available from 6:00 AM - 7:30 AM for an additional fee of $15/week

Cost:
Group of kidsRegistration Fee: $30 (one time)

Day Camp Pre K - 8th Grade:
Members: $110/week Non-Members: $130/week
*** Price includes activities and field trips.

Sports Camps:
Members: $55/week Non-Members: $75/week

Sport Camp and Day Camp:
Members: $135/week Non-Members: $165/week

Payment Options:

  1. Automatic Draft - Weekly amount will be drafted from a credit card or bank account (EFT) on the Friday before the week attending.
  2. Weekly payment - The weekly amount is to be paid the Friday before the week attending at the Front Desk. Failure to pay by Monday, your child's spot may be lost. See Parent Handbook for details.

Scholarship Program:

Through the generosity of our members, staff, board and community donors, the Brad Akins YMCA is able to offer scholarships to families who are not able to afford the regular weekly fees for summer camp. If you need financial assistance, you will need to fill out and turn in a Scholarship Application at least two weeks prior to your child(ren) starting in our program.
