Adult, Youth and Teen Fitness

Fitness Orientations
This is a free service offered to all members ages 15 and up.  Your orientation will take you through the fitness center and introduce you to your YMCA. Appointments can be made at the YMCA Front Desk.

  • Learn how to properly use cardio and weight equipment
  • Meet the fitness staff and ask questions
  • Learn about classes and services offered to members

Fitness Evaluations
Evaluations are free to all members ages 15 and up and include the testing of your cardiovascular and muscular endurance, body fat, flexibility, height, weight, resting blood pressure and heart rate. Please see Angie in the fitness center to schedule your appointment.

Fitness Challenges
Get signed up for our monthly wellness challenges, designed to give you a little extra push and some spice to your workout.

  • America on the Move Week, Sept 20-26: Get ACTIVE!  Join us this week for special walks and challenges to promote healthy living!
  • Walktoberfest, Oct 1-31: Sign up and walk your way to fitness.  Prizes for most steps per week and month and for getting 10,000 steps in one day.
  • Keep It Off, Nov 16 - Dec 31: Holidays are the hardest time to workout and keep the weight off.  Maintain your weight through the holidays and get a reward for your effors!
  • Team Lean Weight Loss Challenge, Jan - April:  $60 registration fee.  Monies collected are returned to challenge winners as cash prizes.

Wellness Coaching
Wellness coaching is a YMCA exercise support process designed to teach new and returning exercisers how to start and stick to their exercise program. At no additional cost, the YMCA will pair you with your own Wellness Coach to provide you with behavior modification strategies to keep you motivated. Whatever your workout worries or goals, your Wellness Coach will help you develop the mindset to go the distance and make those lasting changes. You can register for this program at the YMCA front desk or see Sheila in the Wellness Department.  Designed for ages 18 and up.

Nutrition Counseling
Nutrition counseling is available for members or non-members. You will receive:

  • 3-day computerized nutritional evaluation
  • Detailed nutrition plan based on what you like to eat
  • Continued support for up to 6 months following your evaluation
  • $20 members / $35 non-member fee. Paperwork available at front desk.

"12 weeks to a better you"
Great program for beginning exercisers or those starting back slowly after a long break. Your 12 week program includes:

  • 12 weeks of personal attention and motivation from a personal trainer
  • 4 1-hour sessions with a personal trainer
  • Gradual, baby steps into your fitness program
  • A better chance that exercise will become a habit
  • $100 fee (members only) - register at the front desk

Circuit Weight Classes
Classes are held daily in the fitness center and are free with your membership. Class times are available at the fitness desk and on the group fitness calendar.

Group Exercise Classes
Group exercise classes range from Sr. Chair Exercise classes to yoga and spin. Classes are available with all YMCA memberships at no additional cost. Schedules change monthly and can be obtained at the YMCA front desk or on the YMCA website.

Family Fitness Hours
Children ages 10 and up can utilize the Wellness Center with their parents on the following days and times:
Wednesday and Friday: 6pm to close
Saturday and Sunday : 1pm to close
Parents must assume all responsibility for their children. The child can not be left alone at any time while in the wellness center and must remain beside the parent while using the cardio and weight machines.

Teen Fitness opportunities
Teens ages 12-14 may use the Wellness Center after taking the YMCA Teen Fitness course. This 3-hour course teaches the importance of physical fitness and how to properly use the equipment in the Wellness Center. Classes are offered the 3rd Saturday of every month from 9am-12pm. $40 fee per child payable to the front desk at the time of registration.

Fit Kids
This is a group exercise classes for ages 5-9, held every Tuesday and Thursday at 4:30pm in the group fitness room. There is no additional charge for the class...just send the kids on in to have some fun with fitness!

Youth Fit Zone
For ages 10-12, class consist of 10-15 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of weight circuit training in the wellness center. Free for family and youth members. Check monthly group exercise calendar for class times.

Massage Therapy
Enjoy the benefits of massage.  Our licensed massage therapist will take care of your aches and paines, leaving you feeling refreshed and invigorated.  Appointments are available most days of the week. Gift certificates are available for members and non-members.

Heart Health and Rehab Program
Continue your heart recovery or physical therapy in a fun, friendly environment. After receiving medical release from your physician or therapist, you will meet with a trainer and receive an exercise prescription from our exercise physiologist. Meeting with you for 6 weeks, your trainer will be there to oversee your program and answer all your questions.
