Adult Fitness

FITLINXX Orientations
The Riverwalk YMCA offers adult fitness programs for people in Barrow and Walton counties. This is a free service offered to all members, your orientation will take you through the fitness center and introduce you to your YMCA. Appointments can be made at the YMCA Front Desk.

  • Learn how to properly use cardio and weight equipment
  • Meet the fitness staff and ask questions
  • Learn about classes and services offered to members

Fitness Evaluations
Evaluations are free to all members 15 and up, and include the evaluation of your cardiovascular and muscular endurance, flexibility, height, weight, resting blood pressure, and heart rate. Schedule your appointment with Sheila in the Wellness area.

Group Exercise Classes
Group exercise classes range from Senior Chair Exercise classes to yoga and spin. Classes are available with all YMCA memberships at no additional cost. Schedules change monthly and can be obtained at the YMCA front desk or on the YMCA website.

Karate / Jujitsu Classes

Karate is a generic term used to describe several types of martial arts. AT the YMCA, we teach the specific art of Jujitsu, the most ancient and all-encompassing of the martial arts.

Tennis Lessons

  • Ages 5 - Adult
  • Cost: $20/session for members and $40/session for non-members
  • Days/Times: Mondays & Thursdays (ages 5-8 at 5-6pm, ages 9-12 at 6-7pm, ages 13+ at 7-8pm)
  • Season Dates: starts the 1st Monday of each month
  • Registration: ends Friday before the 1st day of session

Great program for beginning exercisers or those starting back slowly after a long break or medical condition that requires a slow start to excercise. Your 12 week program includes:
  • 12 weeks of personal attention and motivation from a personal trainer

  • A better chance that exercise will become a habit
